Theatre student wins award at festival

Grace McCraren, a theatre major at the College of Lake County, received recognition for her scenic design for a team at the 52nd Region III Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, held Jan. 7-12 in Madison, Wis.

One of 15 CLC students attending the festival, McCraren (right) participated in the winning production titled “The Legend of Georgia McBride.” It was part of a festival project known as Design Storm where directors, designers and dramaturgs from different schools team up toPhoto of CLC theatre student Grace McCraren create the production of their dreams in a competitive event. The students also had the opportunity to view productions from among the best in the region, participate in a variety of workshops and interact with professional theatre artists.
