College offers 14 March events exploring careers, colleges or entrepreneurship

From career information sessions to workshops for small-business owners, the College of Lake County presents 14  events open to the community this March. While some are free and others charge an admission fee, all events take place at the Grayslake Campus unless otherwise noted. For more information, visit

Various March dates: Small-business workshops include: Protecting Your Brand, Assets and Innovation (March 5); The Power of Email Marketing (March 10); The Certification Process (March 12); Starting Your Business in Illinois (March 18); and Sales Success (March 31). Wednesday, March 4: Dental hygiene career information session, noon-1 p.m., Lakeshore (Waukegan) Campus’ Dental Materials Lab N135, 111 N. Genesee St.

Saturday, March 7: Maker Week Build Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Baxter Innovation Lab, Room T121. Individuals, clubs or teams are welcome to use the lab for meeting, brainstorming and fabricating to prepare for the Lake County Maker Week April 18-25. Prior registration is required through CLC's Personal Enrichment Department.

Monday, March 9: Community Partners for Sustainability meeting, 3-4:30 p.m., Room A013. Meet with leaders from local municipalities to explore how to make your community more sustainable.


Tuesday, March 10: Engineering Transfer information session, 6 p.m., Baxter Innovation Lab (Room T120). The evening consists of 30-minute sessions, each covering CLC’s engineering program; the Engineering Pathways transfer program with the University of Illinois; other transfer programs; campus clubs for engineering and other STEM fields; and a tour of the Baxter Innovation Lab. The session is open to prospective students and their parents.

Wednesday, March 11: Medical assisting and phlebotomy career information session, 5 p.m., Room S306, Lakeshore Campus, 33 N. Genesee St., Waukegan.

Thursday, March 12: Illinois Regional College Fair, 6-8 p.m., Physical Education Center (Building 7). Representatives from more than 170 colleges and universities will answer questions about college options. The event is a one-stop resource for high-school students and their parents

Monday, March 16: Health information technology career information session, 4 p.m., Room A152.

Wednesday, March 18: Nursing career information session, 2-3:30 p.m., Rooms T326-328.

Monday-Friday, March 23-27: Spring Vacation (no classes).
