Whether you’re a professional looking to upskill, an adult learner trying out a new career path or a high school grad looking to earn your associate degree before transferring to a four-year college, CLC offers certificates and degrees in more than 85 fields. The college develops new programs based off the workforce demands from local employers and our community – mutually benefitting employers who need workers and future employees who need work.
Cybersecurity certificate
Responding to the growing demand for skilled workers who can help safeguard an organization’s digital infrastructure, CLC created a new 30-credit career certificate in cybersecurity, scheduled to launch this fall. Course work begins with foundational classes in network operating systems and network automation. Subsequent courses focus on cybersecurity, including how to look for weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems.
“The program will prepare students to protect businesses as well as other institutions that currently use electronic commerce from malicious cyberattacks and data theft.” - Sanjay Kumar, chair of CLC’s computer information technology department.
Digital Media Design certificates
Starting this fall, students can focus on five new career certificates in digital media design including:
- Graphic Design
- Web Design
- 2D Animation
- 3D Modeling and Animation
- Digital A/V Production and Editing
These new certificates can all be completed within one academic year with full-time enrollment, making the programs an appealing opportunity for people who want to upskill their digital media design abilities.
“My professors went above and beyond to reassure our choice of major and make sure we had the skills to be hirable or succeed in a transfer program,” said Araceli Gaucin, first-generation college student. She plans to transfer to University of Southern California and complete her bachelor’s degree so she can pursue a career in videography.
