CLC Trustee nominating petitions available for April 2021 election

Nominating petitions for five positions on the College of Lake County Board of Trustees are now available. Candidates for the positions will be placed on the ballot for the April 6, 2021 Consolidated Election. Three seats are for full six-year terms, one seat is for an unexpired four-year term and one seat is for an unexpired two-year term. The college is governed by a seven-member board of trustees, elected from among the citizens of Community College District No. 532, to ensure local accountability.

Beginning Sept. 21, 2020, election petition packets are available for in person pick-up at the College of Lake County Police Department Building E, Entrance E1B, 19351 W. Washington Street, Grayslake and online at www.clcillinois.edu/election. Because the campus is limited to students, faculty and staff at this time, please use the external red phone to be connected with police dispatch and granted building access to the petition packets. All visitors on campus are required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Please contact the Lake County Elections Department for further information on petition materials at https://www.lakecountyil.gov/163/Elections.

The election filing period is Dec. 14-21, 2020. Election nominating papers will be accepted in person without appointment at the College’s Police Department, 19351 West Washington Street, Grayslake, Entrance E1B, Room E124/125 from 8-10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14. Nominating papers shall be accepted by appointment Monday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 15 through Friday, Dec. 18 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; and Monday, Dec. 21 from 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Please call 847-543-2203 to schedule an appointment. The last day to file in person is Monday, Dec. 21 and on that date nominating papers shall be accepted without appointment from 4 – 5 p.m. at the College’s Police Department, 19351 West Washington Street, Grayslake, E1B, Room E124/125.

Trustee nominating papers may be viewed at the College of Lake County Police Department, 19351 W. Washington Street, Grayslake. Please use the external red phone to be connected with police dispatch and granted building access to the petitions for viewing. Objections to nomination papers of a candidate may be filed by appointment only by calling 847-543-2203 on Dec. 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
