by Public Relations and Marketing | Published May 14, 2021

The Small Business Development & International Trade Center (SBDC/ITC) and the College of Lake County (CLC) announced a partnership with leading technology platform Startup Space. This opens the door for local entrepreneurs to use a free online hub, BizHub, dedicated to supporting small businesses in our community. Beginning in May 2021, local entrepreneurs will be able to access BizHub for vetted local business resources, discussion boards, curated community events and more.

“The Small Business Development & International Trade Center at College of Lake County works hard to ensure Lake County small businesses have access to important resources.” said Mitch Bienvenue, director of the SBDC/ITC. “I am thrilled to provide BizHub because it is a digital platform that makes it easy for any business to find the people, organizations and information they need to succeed.”

BizHub is tailored to the local small business community and is available to any type of business, from individual microbusinesses to Main Street businesses to high-growth startups. The platform is primarily focused on the process of building a new business and includes a feature to walk an entrepreneur through the business startup process.

“Startup Space was founded with the singular vision to make it easier to start a business anywhere and create a pathway for wealth creation for entrepreneurs,” remarked David Ponraj, Founder & CEO of Startup Space. “Everything we do is focused on helping communities succeed through entrepreneurship, so we are excited to launch BizHub as a key to providing local small businesses with greater access to the opportunities, information and support needed for entrepreneurs in Lake County to thrive and compete on the global stage.”

“BizHub is an exciting one-stop shop, providing a place to connect, share resources and grow.” said GLMV Chamber of Commerce President, Scott Adams. “GLMV Chamber members like that BizHub is an easy-to-use vehicle to boost business visibility and stay top of mind with their target market.”

Any entrepreneur in Lake County will be able to access BizHub by downloading the mobile app from any app store or visiting www.lakecountybizhub.com for immediate access to entrepreneurship resources, a community calendar and to join the conversation. Any organization interested in supporting the platform or listing resources for local entrepreneurs is encouraged to get involved by contacting Mitch Bienvenue at illinoissbdc@clcillinois.edu.
