The James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts (JLC) is thrilled to reopen its doors on Saturday, Sept. 18 for a free open house from noon to 4:30 p.m., welcoming the public to a peek inside the performing arts and preview its 25th Anniversary Season.

The JLC opened at College of Lake County (CLC) in 1997 and since then, has proudly showcased a wide array of high caliber professional touring events and concerts, along with CLC music, dance and theatre department performances and productions as well as local community-based programs and events.

James Lumber Center“For this special 25th anniversary season, we are presenting some audience favorites from the past in addition to bringing incredible new acts to the JLC stage,” said Gwethalyn Bronner, executive director of the JLC. “Most of all, we are very excited to see our community here in our venue again. We have missed seeing you!”

The roster of activities at the open house will include discounted professional series tickets to attendees on this day only, along with a raffle for free tickets; guided backstage tours; open rehearsals and a walk down memory lane via a visual display and sale of past show posters.

The open house culminates with a free performance of L-Theory Collective at 7 p.m. in the JLC Mainstage with live music accompaniment by David Jennings. This ensemble of dancers is dedicated to revitalizing modern dance through a unique blend of dynamic athleticism and emotive artistic integrity, while promoting inclusion through community engagement in the art of dance.
