CLC theatre presents musical “Into the Woods” this July

After two years of being unable to put on a summer musical, College of Lake County (CLC) Theatre Department brings you a magical production of “Into the Woods” this July.

Into the Woods posterCome catch a performance Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays, July 17 and 24, at 2 p.m. at the Grayslake Campus Studio Theatre.

“Originally scheduled for 2020, we are so happy to be presenting Stephen Sondheim’s brilliant musical, ‘Into the Woods,’ this summer,” Theatre Department Chair and director Craig Rich said. “The show is full of laughter and tenderness with unexpected twists and theatrical magic.”

The musical is about a baker and his wife on journey into the woods to lift a witch’s curse. There, they meet Rapunzel, Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood and other classic fairy tale characters. As the story unfolds, they all must learn the responsibility that comes with getting what you want. Witty, enchanting and touching, the Tony Award-winning “Into the Woods” is a favorite among musical theatre lovers and a timeless masterpiece.

Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for CLC staff and students, teenagers and seniors. Tickets are buy one, get one free opening night, July 15, and Thursday, July 21.
