Moneza Anwar

  • Year: Sophomore
  • Major: Undecided
  • Hometown: Gurnee, IL
  • Campus involvement: Student Ambassador
  • Why did I choose CLC: As someone who is undecided regarding their major, I thought CLC would be a great place for me to explore my choices while taking General Ed classes and working towards transferring to my dream university.

Owen Cox

Owen Cox

Year: Sophomore
Major: Political Philosophy
Hometown: Grayslake, IL
Hobbies: Environmental and Political Activism, and film
Why did you choose CLC: I decided to attend CLC because after high school I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life. CLC has given me an opportunity to expand my educational horizons close to home, and at a fair price.

Ashley-Kilmer

Ashley Kilmer

  • Year: Second Year at CLC
  • Major: Computer Science
  • Hometown: Grayslake, IL
  • Hobbies: Bowling and Art
  • Why did I choose CLC: I always knew about the variety of majors CLC offered and didn’t know what I wanted to major in until I was choosing my first classes. One of the main reasons I chose to come to CLC was because my mom came here and would always bring me and tell me how great of a college it is.

Sarah Krause

Sarah Krause

  • Year: Sophomore
  • Major: Special Education
  • Hometown: Lake Villa, IL
  • Campus involvement: Student Ambassador
  • Why did I choose CLC: I graduated from my high school a semester early so CLC was a great option to knock out some credits. I also thought staying at CLC longer than just one semester was the right option for me because I did not want to rely on my SAT score to get me into a university. I personally love the energy and everyone at CLC and I cannot wait to continue studying here!

Abigail Leung

Abigail Leung

Year: Freshman
Major: Nursing
Hometown: Gurnee, Illinois
Hobbies: Reading and baking
Why I chose CLC: I chose CLC because they have a great Nursing program where I am able to get my RN at an affordable price and I will be able to transfer to a University to get my BSN. I also went to the Tech Campus in High School and really enjoyed the program.

  • Major/Academic Interest: Mortuary Sciences
  • Hometown: Libertyville, IL
  • Campus Involvement: Psychology Club
  • Hobbies: Dungeons & Dragons, Video Games, Cat-Parenting
  • Why did I choose CLC: I enrolled at CLC with an undecided field of study; choosing to stay close to home to keep tuition affordable, as I had no idea what my academic future held. After taking 2020 off due to the pandemic, I came back to campus with a newfound purpose: A decided Major. The help I received from the advisors, as well as my instructors this term has been invaluable. The support they have given as I step onto my new path has helped me find the drive within myself to succeed; as well as the security that if I need help or guidance, all I’ll have to do is ask.

Emily Nguyen

  • Major: Pre-nursing
  • Hometown: Beach Park, IL
  • Campus involvement: Student Ambassador and Phi Theta Kappa
  • Why did I choose CLC: CLC is a great way to get all of your prerequisite classes completed before transferring to a university because it is significantly more affordable. There are endless amounts of opportunities ranging from internships to scholarships. Not to mention, the small environment that CLC has provided for me which has allowed me to connect with all of my professors because they were extremely accessible and friendly. Professors here at CLC want all of their students to succeed, and for that, I'm able to excel in my courses. Thanks to CLC, I have the opportunity to apply for their nursing program this fall of 2021! Then, I will transfer to UIC to receive my BSN as an RN!
