Due to the gym floor replacement project, the gym only of the P.E. Center will be closed this summer.

Gymnasium availability varies due to class & athletic scheduling, call for more info.

Take a Fitness Class

Many different types of aerobic classes and workouts are offered in the Aerobic Room. They are listed in the Schedule of Classes. For more information on physical education (PED) classes, please contact the Biological & Health Sciences Division. For information on noncredit, personal enrichment (CFIT) classes, contact Center for Personal Enrichment.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center offers a variety of equipment for a total body workout, including:

  • Aerobic Equipment (state-of-the-art treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc.)
  • Strength equipment (premium selectorized pieces, functional trainers, smith machine, dumbbells, etc.)
  • TV’s
  • Locker rooms/showers


  • Free Zumba and Yoga classes are offered on Fridays during the Fall and Spring semesters (Sponsored by Student Life.)
  • Pick-up basketball and volleyball (when not in use by scheduled events, classes, sports, etc.)
  • Fitness Trail around campus

Who Can Use the Fitness Center?

To use these fitness center or gym for free, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in a CLC credit class
  • Be employed as a CLC staff member
  • Be a member of the CLC Alumni Association

If you do not meet one of the criteria above, you may purchase a Fitness Center Semester or Annual Pass in order to use our facilities:

  • $75 per semester (Fall/Spring)*
  • $50 per Summer Session*
  • $200 Annual Fee

*Semester pass usage time is from the first day of the current semester to the first day of the next semester/session.

Check-In Procedures

  • Sign in at the P.E.C. control desk.
  • You must show a current picture I.D. card when signing in and leave it or a Fitness Center access card when working out.
  • You will be issued a towel for use in wiping off equipment. Please help us keep our facility clean!
  • If needed, you may also check-out a key for a locker. Lockers are available only for daily use.
  • Your I.D. will be returned to you when all P.E.C. items have been turned in and you have completed your workout.

Rules and Regulations

  • A physical examination is recommended before undertaking strenuous physical activity.
  • A warm-up and cool-down is recommended for every workout.
  • No food or drink allowed (except water).
  • No children under the age of 18 permitted.
  • Shirts must be worn.
  • Shoes must be worn.
  • Appropriate workout clothes only. No jeans or clothing with belts or zippers are allowed.
  • Please wipe down equipment after exercising.
  • No loitering.
  • Please notify staff of any broken equipment.
  • The entire P.E. Center is a non-smoking area.
  • No locks may be left on overnight in the locker rooms, unless approved by the P.E. Center Supervisor's office.
  • All injuries must be reported immediately to the attendant on duty.
  • CLC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Common sense rules of conduct will be expected at all times!
