Welcome to the Department of Global Engagement

The Department of Global Engagement seeks to foster an organizational culture and climate that fully supports global education and welcomes diversity. We promote global awareness, responsibility, intercultural understanding and engagement among students, faculty, and staff.

The College of Lake County was awarded the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization for 2022. The award recognizes overall excellence in internationalization efforts as evidenced in mission, strategies, programs, and results.

CLC is Global

The College of Lake County is a firm believer and promoter of Global Citizenship. The Department of Global Engagement strives to ensure that all CLC students leave our campus with a firm understanding of the world their place in it through the various initiatives and programs in Global Engagement.

  1. CLC enrolls anywhere from 70-100 international students on the F-1 student visa annually from over 35 countries.
  2. CLC offers incredible and affordable short-term and semester long study abroad programs to more than 10 countries.
  3. CLC has global partners in the U.A.E., China, the Philippines, Japan, Austria, Costa Rica, England, Ireland, France, and Spain!
  4. CLC offers the Global Citizenship Milestone designed for students who are interested in deepening their understanding of a diversity of cultures, societies, and systems within an international, globalized context.
  5. The Department of Global engagement is a success center for all non-immigrant visa holders on campus, which promotes a true and integrated international community.

 

Study Abroad Trip to United Arab Emirates

Watch CLC student Kamden’s vlog about his once in a lifetime trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the exciting new place where CLC students can study abroad thanks to CLC’s new partnership with Ajman University. During Sheikh Abdul Aziz’s visit to CLC, the “Green Sheikh” invited Kamden to visit and pilot a new study abroad program with Ajman University.
