Aug. 20-21: Auditions for “Junie B. Jones: Toothless Wonder”

Actors 14 years and older are invited to audition for the theatre department’s 2024 young audience show, “Junie B. Jones: Toothless Wonder.” Auditions are 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 20 and 21 in the Studio Theatre.

“Junie B. Jones: Toothless Wonder” is a funny and touching play for all who have wanted to feel acceptance from others and come to find that we first need to accept ourselves.

“I love the ‘Junie B. Jones’ plays,” said Director Alicia Hall. “Playwright Allison Gregory faithfully brings ‘Junie B. Jones’ books to life with her stage adaptations. Her plays are filled with love, humor and all the wonderful and awkward experiences of being a kid. This is the second ‘Junie B. Jones’ play I have directed for CLC, and I look forward to directing more of them.”

Performers should prepare a 60-second funny personal experience or story or children’s play monologue. Please bring to the audition or email a resume or list of theatre experience and a photo. Actors need only attend one day of auditions. Callbacks are at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22.

Rehearsals begin Monday, Aug. 26. Performances are Thursday, Sept. 26 through Sunday, Sept. 29. Actors must be available for all rehearsals from Monday, Sept. 16 through the performances. Rehearsals are 6:30-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday with an occasional Sunday rehearsal depending on availability of actors and necessity.
