High School Diploma (HSD)

Note: On July 1, 2022, the Governor of IL changed the high school equivalency credential to "Illinois High School Diploma" instead of "High School Equivalency."

Getting your high school diploma is an academic milestone and a personal achievement. Adult Secondary Education (ASE) classes prepare adults who have not completed high school to take one of three ICCB approved HSD (High School Diploma) exams: GED or HiSet.

ASE Courses

Classes are offered in English and Spanish and will prepare you for all three high school diploma exams.

How to get started with ASE courses.

Online Course

Students who are interested in taking the free online class must be able to use computers and have an e-mail address. Students may use CLC's computer labs or local libraries.

Note: These courses do not apply to any associate degree or career certificate program.

Testing

The high school equivalent exams are offered onsite through CLC’s Testing Center.

Graduation

A graduation ceremony will usually be held in May for any Lake County resident who passes examination and meets all requirements.
