Specialty: Fire Science

Teaching full time at CLC since: Fall 2019.

Subjects taught at CLC: FST 173 & FST 174 instructor 1 & 2 as an adjunct instructor. As a fulltime faculty I teach several of the fire science courses offered at CLC.

Other professional experience: Jeff started in the fire service in 1987 with the Elk Grove Township Fire Department. He was hired by the Lake Forest Fire Department in 1990 where he rose to the rank of fire chief in 2007 until he retired in 2016. While he was chief, he served on the Lake County Fire Chiefs Association, the Lake & McHenry Counties Specialized Response Team Executive Board. He also served on the International Fire Chiefs Great Lakes Division Executive Board along with the Illinois Fire Chiefs Executive board.

Education: B.S., in Fire Service Administration, Southern Illinois University; M.S. in Fire and Emergency Management, Oklahoma State University.

What inspires me about my field: I spent almost 30 years in the fire service and am very passionate in mentoring young adults who want to take that step in being educated about the fire service through a degree program.
