Grayslake Campus COVID-19 Testing

Updated June 15, 2022

Juneteenth Holiday Schedule Update

SHIELD Testing site is closed on Thursday, June 16 and Monday, June 20.

The last day for SHIELD Testing at CLC is Thursday, June 30.

College of Lake County partnered with SHIELD Illinois to administer its saliva-based COVID-19 test method developed by the University of Illinois. CLC students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to get tested.

The saliva-based COVID-19 test is a non-invasive test simply requiring an individual to deposit a saliva sample into a provided vial. Saliva samples are then transported to a network of lab partners who will process the sample and return results to the individual who was tested within 24 hours.

The Following New Testing Hours Will Begin Monday, April 4.

  • Monday Hours: 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Thursday Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Testing will be conducted in Room C106 at the Grayslake Campus starting
Monday, October, 18, 2021.

Parking spaces available in Lot 4, with entrance to building at P1 door. Limited parking is also available in Lot 5 or Visitor Parking on Sunpivot Circle at the Main entrance.

This walk-in testing is free and open to the public, regardless of symptoms. You do not need to be a CLC student, faculty or staff member to be tested. Before you arrive, you must register for an account. To register, use the following agency codes:

Testing Procedure

Please bring a photo ID.

Refrain from eating, drinking, brushing your teeth, using mouthwash, chewing gum and using tobaccos for at least one hour before submitting your saliva sample at the test site. Doing any of these things within 60 minutes of providing a sample could produce an inconclusive result.

Watch this video from SHIELD Illinois on how to supply a quality saliva sample in the testing tube you will be provided at the testing site.

Always wear a face mask and maintain at least six feet of distance from others.

Test results are typically available within 24 hours and can be found in your MySHIELD patient portal.
