COVID-19 2021 Update for Students - January 11, 2022: Spring Semester Start Dates

Published Jan 11, 2022

En Español

As residents of Illinois and Lake County continue to experience a surge in cases of COVID-19 due to the Omicron variant, College of Lake County continues its efforts to keep the community healthy. The requirements regarding mask wearing, vaccination or weekly testing, established in the fall 2021 semester, remain in place, as does the expectation to stay home and contact the COVID Concerns Team (covid19concerns@clcillinois.edu) if you are not feeling well or if you have had close contact with someone with a positive case of COVID-19.

Due to the post-holiday surge of new COVID cases, CLC has modified the spring 2022 semester start as outlined below:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 18: Start date for all online anytime, online live via Zoom, and blended LiveZoom/online anytime classes, as well as clinicals and non-credit classes (on schedule)
  • Monday, Jan. 24: Start date for all in-person and blended classes with an in-person component (one week later than scheduled)

Please use the menu in myStudentCenter to check your class schedule and confirm the start date for your classes. (Search for this information under “Instruction Mode.”)

  • Spring break will occur as planned, March 21-27.
  • The last week of the semester, May 7-13, will include both instruction and final examinations.
  • The spring semester will end as planned on May 13.

Additional Notes

  • N95 and surgical masks will be available to students on campus.
  • Café Willow seating has been modified to maximize physical distancing when individuals are unmasked while eating or drinking.
  • CLC continues to monitor information and will communicate any additional changes as needed.

All higher education personnel and students on campus are required to wear a face mask and receive the COVID-19 vaccine or get tested for COVID-19 at least once per week. Read more about the Governor’s executive order. Students who submit proof of vaccination will receive $100!
