Reporting Sexual Misconduct and Getting Support

Any CLC member can report sex and gender-based misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, domestic violence and dating violence (see definitions and examples in Title IX Procedures (PDF)) to the College.

How can I make a report?

You can report directly using any of the methods described below.

For your convenience, you may also submit a report through our anonymous CLC Hotline listed below. For the most thorough investigation, it is always recommended to provide as much information as possible or contact CLC's Title IX & Compliance Coordinator directly.

Meet with a Responsible Employee (RE)

A responsible employee is obligated to report to the Title IX and Compliance Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinator information about an incident that the student or another person has shared, so the College can determine what occurred and work to resolve the situation. This includes the names of those involved in the incident being reported, as well as relevant facts, including the date, time, and location. In order to help stop the misconduct and prevent re-occurrence, information is kept private but not confidential. Responsible employees include but are not limited to the following employee groups:

For Child Abuse and Neglect, Meet with Mandated Reporters (under the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act)

All CLC employees are required to call the IL Dept. of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Hotline at 1-800-25-ABUSE (1-800-252-2873) when they have reasonable cause to believe that a child (anyone under the age of 18) known to them in their professional or official capacity may be an abused or neglected child. The Hotline worker will determine if the information given by the reporter meets the legal requirements to initiate an investigation.

Speak to Someone Confidentially

How can I speak with someone confidentially?

A confidential resource is someone who is not obligated by law to report personal identifiable information to the Title IX & Compliance Coordinator. For further explanation, see Confidentiality (see explanation in Title IX Procedures (PDF)).

Meet with a Confidential Advisor

For confidentiality, you can meet with a confidential advisor. This is someone who provides emergency and ongoing support to student survivors of sexual violence. Confidential advisors have received at least 40 hours of training on sexual violence and are also familiar with the College administrative process. Any College employee can refer you to a Confidential Advisor or you can contact them directly. CLC’s Confidential Advisors are staff of the

Meet with Certain Campus Security Authorities (CSAs)

To make a report without providing personal identifiable information, you can meet with campus security authorities. These are employees who have significant responsibility for student and campus activities. CSAs who are NOT also Responsible Employees under Title IX report only statistics (no personal identifiable information), such as the nature, date, time, location and current state of the situation, if known, to the CLC Police department. The statistics are recorded in CLC’s Annual Security Report and shared with the public.

  • CLC Counselors trained in sexual assault crisis and acting in this capacity
  • Health Center nurses acting in this capacity
  • Member of Clergy providing pastoral counseling
