COVID-19 Update: Message to CLC Students

We’re writing to share an important update about the coronavirus, COVID-19.

"Our goals are to uphold our part in the public health responsibility of containing and slowing the spread of the virus, maintaining the health and well-being of our students, employees and community while also maintaining our high-quality learning and business continuity," CLC President Dr. Lori Suddick said today in her open campus forum.

Please know there are no known cases of COVID-19 at CLC at this time.

However, as the safety of our community is our priority, CLC is canceling non-business, non-curricular events for a two-week period starting Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, March 29, 2020.

Cancellations will apply to events with the following parameters:

  • Events with external (non-student, non-staff) audiences, for example: professional performances at the James Lumber Center, group rentals; and
  • Internal events with more than 250 people in order to encourage social distancing

A full list of canceled events will be available on by noon by Friday, March 13.

For events the week of March 30, the college will make a decision by March 20.

Our internal operations, including group meetings, classes and student activities with attendance under 250 will continue as normal, and we will provide updates as the college continues to monitor the situation. Changes will be communicated as soon as they are made.

We continue to align our recommendations with and follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other local, state and federal agencies.

In addition, we are preparing for an alternative delivery of learning for student instruction to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest quality of education during this time.
