Academic Resources

Students who embrace the change at hand and seek help do better. Talk with the faculty and staff available to help you with the transition to online and flexible learning. This can be a big adjustment, so please use the following resources.

Library

The CLC Libraries are open to check out books, technology, and academic resources and use study space. Study rooms are not open at this time. Visit the campus operations page for hours and instructions for visiting campus.

Online Tutoring Center

All tutoring is online and available for most writing assignments in any class and most math, chemistry, biology, physics, earth science, engineering, accounting, economics, CIT, MCS and AMT courses. Currently enrolled students can access the Tutoring Center through Canvas (look for the Tutoring Center card in your dashboard). For more information, visit the Tutoring Center website.

Online Counseling, Advising and Transfer Center

The Counseling, Advising and Transfer Center (CATC) is currently providing phone, Zoom, and email services to students. To request an appointment with an advisor or student development counselor, please call (847) 543-2060. If leaving a message, please provide your name, CLC student ID number, and call back number, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. The call you receive may be coming from a "private" or "blocked" number, so please make sure your phone is set to accept those types of calls. To contact us via email, please reach out to advice@clcillinois.edu from your CLC student email address.

Testing Center

The Testing Centers are open by appointment only.  Visit the campus operations page for hours, tests available and how to schedule an appointment.

Online Success Workshops

CLC offers weekly live workshops focused on academic, personal, career and transfer success. If you can’t attend the live workshop, an on-demand version is available in Canvas. Check the topics and schedule, and register to participate through Succeed at CLC.

You can access a free online service, StudentLingo, for interactive on-demand success workshops. Topics include time management, test anxiety, test taking and motivation.

    1. Go to www.studentlingo.org/clcillinois.
    2. Create an account using your CLC e-mail. Remember your account information so you can log in at any time.
    3. You will be taken to your student dashboard and can access the workshops immediately.
