Canvas Learning Management System

Beginning with the Summer 2020 semester, College of Lake County courses will be transitioning to a new Learning Management System (LMS) called Canvas. Canvas is robust and easy-to-use and will replace our current Blackboard LMS. Like Blackboard, Canvas delivers course content online:

  • Faculty can upload course materials for their students on Canvas and conduct a variety of classroom activities.
  • Students can retrieve and submit assignments, participate in discussion groups, take tests and check grades.

Why Canvas?

Canvas offers many benefits including:

  • Features to aid in your success as a student
  • A clean, modern look and feel for easy navigation
  • Tools to collaborate with your peers and instructors, while facilitating deeper learning and the ability to build communities beyond the classroom
  • A mobile-friendly student app to access your courses on the go
