Lakeshore Urban Farm Center

Waukegan and modern ag: The perfect pair

Lakefront downtown plus modern agriculture—your new neighbors. Their new home is a landmark building at the corner of Sheridan Road and Madison Street, a welcome addition to CLC’s Lakeshore Campus.

This high-tech, sustainably-designed center prioritizes community health, wellness and prosperity with educational programs like "VeggieRx" that feature renewable foods from local farmers and CLC students.

As one of the country’s top 10 greenest community college campuses, CLC is positioned to be a regional leader in sustainable agriculture and resilient food systems. As a community hub, CLC plans to coordinate the many organizations throughout the county that have worked separately over the years to create a unified food-system approach that promotes economic vitality, environment sustainability and addresses public health and wellness through food production, education and training.
