CLC’s Lakeshore Campus is a vibrant urban campus in Waukegan, Illinois, thirty minutes east of CLC’s Grayslake Campus.

Built in and for the community, Lakeshore offers programs for adult learners and traditional age college students. Lakeshore is home to transfer-path classes and career-building programs, some of which offer free tuition.

Campus Highlights


Lakeshore Student Center

The 62,692 square foot student center features a welcome and one stop center, adult education, a library and career placement assistance. The LEED-certified student center even has bird-friendly windows. 

Eleanor Murkey Community Center

Located on the fifth, top, floor of the Student Center, take in the magnificent view of Lake Michigan while spending time in the Eleanor Murkey Community Center, named after the first dean of the Lakeshore campus. On a clear day, you can even see downtown Chicago. The community center is your study space, your gathering place and more.

Urban Farm

The college has exciting plans to build an Urban Farm just north of its Student Center in downtown Waukegan.

Parking and driver assistance

We have designated parking areas on campus for use by students, faculty, staff and visitors. CLC parking lots are idle-free zones. All students, faculty, staff and visitors are asked to abide by the parking rules and regulations as established by the College of Lake County Police Department.

Where to park

Parking for students, staff and visitors is available in the CLC Lakeshore Campus parking facility located at 30 N. Sheridan Rd., just east of the Lakeshore Campus South Building, 33 N. Genesee St.

All vehicles and pedestrians need to vacate the parking lot by closing hours as it will remain locked until 7 a.m. Vehicles that remain within the garage after closing can be accessed the following college business day.
