If you attend a different college, you can enroll at CLC as a visiting student. Here's how in 3 easy steps:

1. Apply

Welcome! If you have never attended CLC before, take these simple steps to apply at CLC.
Congrats! You're already in the system. You don't need to re-submit a student admission form.
If you applied in the last 5 years, your record is still active. You're eligible to enroll in classes. Find classes or browse the course catalog.
If you applied or enrolled more than 5 years ago, your record is inactive. Please contact Registration Services at (847) 543-2035 or email admissions@clcillinois.edu to reactivate and/or update your information.

2. Register for class

Visiting students can enroll in select courses without meeting course prerequisites.

Note: If you are unable to enroll in any of these courses, please email an unofficial college transcript to records@clcillinois.edu. Please ensure your name and the name of the institution are visible on the transcript.
You can enroll in courses not on the prerequisite deferred list for visiting students. To do this, you must meet basic proficiencies, course prerequisites and corequisites.

If you need to meet basic proficiencies
Email your unofficial college transcript to records@clcillinois.edu. Please ensure your name and the name of the institution are visible on the transcript.
If you completed a prerequisite course elsewhere
Use the Prerequisite Verification Request Form to upload an unofficial transcript, grade report, or degree audit with your name and the institution’s name on the document. You will need your CLC username and password to access the form.
If you're currently taking a prerequisite course elsewhere
First, use the Prerequisite Verification Request Form to upload your unofficial transcript or student schedule from the college/university with the prerequisite course and your name listed. You will need your CLC username and password to access the form.
Then, provide proof that you’ve successfully completed this course to records@clcillinois.edu. You must complete this step to secure your enrollment at CLC.

You know the classes you want to take. Now it’s time to register! In fact, you can register for courses two hours after receiving your CLC ID number.
To register online
- Follow step-by-step instructions (PDF) to register through the Student Portal.

- Stop by the Registration Room at the Grayslake Campus in Room A111, or
- Contact or visit the Welcome and One Stop Center at the Lakeshore (Waukegan) or Southlake (Vernon Hills) campus, or

3. Transfer credits

Learn how CLC courses transfer back to your school using Transferology. Then follow the steps required by your home college. Most schools require an official transcript to transfer in credits.
Order an official CLC transcript through Parchment after creating an account. Check your unofficial CLC transcript to make sure final grades have posted before ordering an official transcript. Final grades typically take a few days after the semester ends to be submitted and posted.
For help using Parchment, watch the videos How to Create an Account with Parchment and How to Order a Transcript with Parchment. The Parchment Help Center has answers to frequently asked questions. You also can submit a web case for support. The Parchment Support Team is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
Learn how courses from other schools transfer into CLC using the Transfer Evaluation System (TES).
Then contact the other college(s). Ask them to send your official transcript(s) directly to the Registration & Student Records department at CLC.
You also must request an evaluation of transfer credits for the program of study you intend to pursue at CLC. Complete the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request Form.
More information about transcripts
Official transcripts usually are sent electronically between colleges using Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse. Paper transcripts sent to CLC must be received in a sealed envelope and mailed to:
