April 13: Celebrate innovation at Maker Faire Lake County
Published March 26, 2024Witness some of the most creative minds in Lake County in action during the 4th annual Maker Faire Lake County 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the PE Center on College of Lake County’s (CLC) Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake, IL, 60030. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.
Maker Faire celebrates the multifaceted fields of making, perfect for everyone in Lake County—from engineers to scientists to crafters. The event also showcases CLC’s home for makers, the Baxter Innovation Lab, which opened in 2018. The event is free and open to the public and is a popular event which more than 800 people attended last year.
“There is an extraordinary line up of makers this year,” said Engineering Instructor Jan Edwards. “We have an experimental aircraft, commercial drone pilot, several prototyping engineers and a wide array of community makerspaces. I’m most excited about the Young Makers. We have so many middle school and high school students with great enthusiasm for making especially in the robotics arena.”
