CLC police participate in Pink Patch Project

The College of Lake County (CLC) police department proudly participates in the Pink Patch Project to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing the pink patch during October.

It is estimated that approximately one in eight women will be diagnosed with cancer in her lifetime. This disease can have a profound impact on the patient and her loved ones. It is a disease, however, that can be effectively treated with surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy and chemotherapy.

The Pink Patch Project is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs’ Association and public safety agencies across the nation. The purpose of the initiative is to both raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection and treatment.

Pink patches are available for purchase for $10 at Student Activities and Inclusion (SAI) office, B106, at the Grayslake Campus or at any campus bookstore. Patches can also be mailed by sending a check for $11, payable to CLC, Attn: SAI office, to 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake, IL 60030 and include your mailing address. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
