Commencement Ceremony

Four tickets (wristbands) will be issued to each graduate for their guests at the time of cap and gown pick-up. Every guest, including children, must present a ticket to be admitted into the Athletic Center (Building F). (Only infants who will sit on a lap will not need a ticket.)

Guests must show their ticket (wristband) at entry. No exceptions.

Graduates will not need to present a ticket (wristband).

Cap and gown and guest tickets will be available for pick up the week of May 12-16.

Cap and gown pickup information will be sent via email and posted on the Student Portal. Please log into the Student Portal and review details on the commencement page, listed under Resources.

Guests and graduates may park in Lots 8 and 9. Lot 7 is available for accessible parking.

All graduates will check in between 9:00-9:30 am in Building T (use T1 door). At 9:45 a.m., graduates will form a processional line in Building T, and all members of the procession will travel as a group from the T12 door into the Athletic Center (Building F). The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Guests with tickets (wristbands) will enter the Athletic Center (Building F) through the main doors and will be seated in designated areas in the gym. Seating inside the gym is limited. Guests must show their ticket (wristband) at entry. No exceptions.

Guests may not bring balloons or noisemakers into the Athletic Center.

Guests without a wristband are welcome to view the live stream on the jumbotron outside Building F (limited seating will be available) or in the atrium (L wing, accessed through T1 door).

The commencement program is posted online and accessible on the day of the ceremony. Graduates will receive one copy of the commencement program. One program will be offered to each group of guests, while supplies last.

A pop-up LancerZone shop located in the lobby of the gym will be open from 9:00 a.m. through 30 minutes after the commencement ceremony ends. Items available for purchase include diploma frames, gifts, cards, flowers, and a variety of snacks and beverages.

Closed captioning in English and Spanish will be shown on two screens in the gym during the ceremony.

As a guest, you can celebrate with our graduates even if you can't attend commencement in person.

All graduates who registered with the photographer should have received an email or text from the photographer about proofs.

For questions about the printed name/spelling of name on diplomas/certificates or how diplomas/certificates are sent out, please contact records@clcillinois.edu.

CLC partners with Parchment to issue diplomas. Paper diplomas are issued via U.S. mail approximately 4-6 weeks after the semester ends to the current address on file with the College of Lake County. Graduates, please verify that your current address is on file in StudentCenter.

Graduates also receive a digital diploma via Parchment that can be shared on social media or with family and friends. Digital diplomas are issued approximately 1-3 weeks after the semester ends. Watch for email updates from Parchment. Login to your Parchment Account to access your digital diploma.
