College of Lake County (CLC) is a proud partner in the Illinois Community College Marketing Collaborative (ICCMC), a statewide branding initiative that will create a comprehensive community college brand. The campaign was recently rolled out to share the stories of community college students and their successes.

ICCB LogoThe Illinois community colleges are 48 powerhouses of opportunity at the grass roots. No two community colleges are alike—what they share and build on is an unwavering belief in the people and places they serve. Success is defined student by student and community by community.

Community colleges, like CLC, are outcome driven. Degrees and stackable certificates focus on giving students clear paths toward their goals. These institutions make higher education available to the greatest number of people. 67% of four-year state institution graduates in Illinois spent some time in their local community college.

The focus for the institutions, like the name says, is on the community. Community colleges boost local education levels and social mobility and are a trusted, proactive partner for local economic and civic ambitions. Illinois's community colleges are the largest provider of public workforce training in the state.

CLC graduate Za'Tozia Duffie was selected as one of the students for the campaign. Duffie is currently a graduate student at Syracuse University studying magazine news and digital journalism. Click here to read her story.
