Enhance your skillset and improve your career with professional development courses at College of Lake County (CLC). This fall, nearly 20 new programs are being offered.

Whether you are planning a career pivot, reentering the workforce or working toward a promotion, CLC’s professional development courses will help you maximize your career potential. The new programs span several different industries and provide opportunities for people of all interests to begin or advance their career.

Courses in digital media and design can help bolster skills in web and graphic design. With career development and entrepreneurship courses, improve key skills like resume-building and presenting or learn how to start a drone piloting business.

“CLC's new professional development classes for the fall respond to the changing nature of the employment marketplace,” said Executive Director of Community Programs Roneida Martin. “Students can learn about personal branding, create a resume that breaks through the clutter and understand how to use LinkedIn for a job change or career pivot in addition to the skills-based learning that is a traditional strength.”

New courses are also available in home and building inspection and OSHA safety certification.

Professional development will host two hiring events open to the public this fall focusing on how to earn a CDL-B license and start a career as a driver for Pace Suburban Bus. These hiring events will take place from 4-7 p.m. Sep. 7 and Oct. 12.
