Build your connections and learn about job opportunities at the 9th annual Engineering and Technology Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at the Grayslake Campus.
Put together by the college’s Career and Job Placement Center (CJPC), the fair is free and open to all students and the public. The event is strategically held in early January when CLC and other college students are still on break.
“CJPC’s purpose is to bridge the gap between employers and students,” said Executive Director Will White. “Career fairs are just one way we do that. There’s a growing need for graduates to remain in Lake County for work, and we are doing our best to help students who want to find jobs locally.”
Meet and network with industry leaders seeking emerging talent to hire for their growing organizations. This is one of the larger fairs CLC hosts, and 20-30 employers are expected to attend, including Baxter International, Siemens, and UL Solutions.
“This is a great chance for students to engage with employers and find out more about relevant industries at the local level,” said Career Services Specialist Nicole Leconte.
Employment and internship positions will be available, so a wide variety of students can find opportunities at the event.
“Anyone from anywhere in their educational journey can benefit from attending,” White said. “Whether they are first year or about to graduate, there will be something for everyone.”
Attendees should bring a resume and be ready to discuss skills with industry professionals. Having a list of five to seven questions can help show preparedness and start the conversation. Business casual attire is recommended.
