CLC Community,
With great anticipation for finding CLC’s next top-notch President, I am pleased to announce that preliminary steps have been taken in initiating the Presidential search. During the search, the Board will be supported by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and members of the CLC Human Resources team.
Throughout this community-wide transparent process, set to kick off in late August, we will be requesting participation and feedback from students, employees, and community members. This important input will be vital in shaping the Presidential Profile. Next steps also include holding public forums and distributing an electronic survey designed to ensure that the perspectives and priorities of our diverse college and Lake County communities are reflected in the search.
A representative Presidential Search Committee—composed of Board members, faculty, administrators, staff, student and community representatives — will help guide the process through the review of confidential applicants and the selection and interview of confidential semi-finalist candidates. The committee will then recommend finalist candidates to the Board of Trustees.
Finalists will visit the college in late January 2027 to meet with campus and community stakeholders and participate in public forums, interviews, and campus tours. The Board anticipates appointing the next President in February, with a start date based on the president-elect’s availability, likely in June or July.
Additional information regarding the Presidential Search Committee, opportunities for community input, recruitment timeline, finalist campus visits, and feedback opportunities will be shared as the search progresses.
The College of Lake County’s next president will play a vital role in shaping the institution’s future, and the Board of Trustees welcomes broad engagement of the College community as we undertake this collaborative search process together.
