You oughta know that the emotional whirlwind of “Jagged Little Pill” is about to take the stage! The College of Lake County (CLC) theatre department proudly presents its upcoming production of the acclaimed musical, running on select dates July 17-26 at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. Don’t miss this powerful and thought-provoking theatrical experience.

The Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family, but looks can be deceiving. When the cracks beneath the surface begin to show, they must choose between maintaining the status quo or facing harsh truths about themselves, their community and the world around them.

Inspired by Alanis Morissette’s electrifying album Jagged Little Pill, this Tony and Grammy Award-winning new musical about a perfectly imperfect American family is brimming with joy, strength, love, courage and life. With a score that features unforgettable hits like “You Oughta Know” and “Ironic,” Jagged Little Pill dives deep into the complexities of modern life, tackling themes of mental health, identity and resilience.

“Jagged Little Pill matters right now because it puts real, raw, human struggles—mental health, identity, addiction and consent—right out in the open,” said Jagged Little Pill Director Scott Metzger. “It reminds us that we all can carry a heavy weight beneath the surface and empathy matters.”

This production is recommended for mature audiences. It contains mature themes including substance abuse, sexual assault, strong language and mental health challenges.
