Illinois Alternative Application

The RISE Act: Another option for financial aid in Illinois

If you were previously ineligible for state of Illinois financial aid, the Retentional of Illinois Students & Equity (RISE) Act is a new law that may allow you to receive aid. Those eligible include undocumented students who are residents of the state of Illinois.

Also eligible are undergraduate students of good academic standing who lost their Monetary Award Program (MAP) funding because they haven’t reached junior standing after using 75 MAP funded credit hours.

Submit the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) created an Illinois-specific online application for MAP (Monetary Awards Program). The Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid is patterned after the FAFSA. The data collected on the application is used to calculate your expected family contribution (EFC) and determine your MAP eligibility.
