Military and Veteran Recruitment and Enrollment Activities
Fair and transparent student recruitment and enrollment activities
As the College of Lake County (CLC) strives toward meeting its enrollment goals, it will comply with local, state and federal laws applicable to outreach, recruitment and admission practices. The college will keep the educational interests of all prospective students at the forefront of admissions and recruitment practices. As such, CLC will provide accurate information to assist all prospective students in making informed application and enrollment decisions. This includes information about college admissions, costs and other information that will allow students to determine whether a college is a “good fit” for them.
CLC is committed to ensuring that recruitment and enrollment activities conducted at the college reflect the college’s integrity. CLC adopts this procedure as part of its efforts to ensure fair and transparent marketing to prospective students. Staff at the college conducting recruitment and enrollment activities, including Student Recruitment and Onboarding, Academic Advising and Retention, Veteran Student Services, Financial Aid and third-party contractors are subject to and must comply with this procedure.
- The CLC representative will refrain from offering prospective students any inducements as a recruiting tool. This includes offering the prospective student any gratuity, favor, discount, entertainment, hospitality, loan, transportation, lodging, meals or other item having a monetary value of more than a de minimis amount, to any individual for the purpose of security enrollment. Additionally, offering such inducements for the purpose of securing enrollment to a prospective student’s family member, partner or friend is prohibited.
- CLC will refrain from providing any commission, bonus, or other incentive payment based directly or indirectly on securing enrollments or federal financial aid (including Department of Defense Tuition Assistance funds) to any persons or entities engaged in any student recruiting, admission activities or making decisions regarding the award of student financial assistance.
- The CLC representative will refrain from high-pressure recruitment tactics such as making multiple unsolicited contacts (3 or more) with the prospective student by phone, text, email or in-person.
- CLC will refrain from engaging in same-day recruitment and registration activities for the purpose of securing enrollment of Service members.
