Our energetic instructors guide you in the scientific study of traditional and contemporary fitness, coaching, and nutrition strategies, to name a few. Taking our Kinesiology classes can help you improve your own physical fitness. We prepare you for a career in the health fitness industry and provide you with engaging transfer credit moving you on to a four-year program. Don’t wait—get moving! Enroll in Total Fitness (KIN 130) to increase your personal fitness while you earn transferable college credit. Work out on your own through pre-approved workouts and/or at approved workout facilities.

Over the course of this semester, you can accumulate 30 hours of activities and exercises. Our highly trained and nationally certified fitness instructors guide you to develop and implement a personalized fitness plan tailored to your individual goals. You get regular check-ins with your instructor throughout the semester to track your progress.

Your workouts are flexible—designed to fit your lifestyle, schedule and fitness level. Whether you are just beginning your fitness journey or an active person looking to get college transferable credit for the exercise you’re already doing, this is the class for you!
As a CLC student, you have free access to our fitness center at the Grayslake Campus!
The Fitness Center is equipped to give you a total body workout with:
- cardio equipment (state of the art treadmills, ellipticals, cycles and more)
- resistance training equipment (selectorized strength-training machines, functional trainers, suspension trainers, physio balls, dumbbells, and more)
- stretching equipment (mats, bands and more)
Want to work out in a group?
- Enroll in our group fitness classes (aerobic fitness, aikido, body toning, Pilates, strength training, yoga and more).
- Play pick-up basketball, volleyball, pickle ball and more.
Want to be active outside?
- Take a hike on our Living Lab trail around campus.
Enjoy your workouts more with the comfort and convenience of our locker rooms and shower facilities.

These programs are built around general education classes that lead to an associate degree designed to transfer to a 4-year school. CLC participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) to ensure that approved courses will transfer to other participating colleges and universities. Transfer degrees typically take 2 years* to complete.
