Art
Cultivate your creativity into a career
The Art Department at the College of Lake County provides a range of art classes for students to develop fundamental skills and techniques in a variety of mediums. Students will leave our program ready to transfer to a four-year institution or begin work as an independent artist. Hands-on experience creates an active learning environment in our studios.
Through high-quality education, students will learn to apply principles and elements of design creatively and effectively in the process of making two- and three-dimensional artwork. The department aims to develop students' critical thinking abilities, visual awareness, evaluation skills and knowledge of art history through the guidance of course curriculum, interaction with instructor and peers visits to galleries and museums and from the process of creating course projects.
