Cue the lights

This is your moment—the set is in place, costume changes are lined up, the sound booth has run all its checks. It’s time for the magic, the theatre of this show.

The show changes; that moment doesn’t. Prep for all your major roles—as performer or technician—with the CLC Theatre department. Join us on stage with 5 shows a year, run through all your paces and be ready for your moment.

Why study Theatre with us?

Start at CLC because of all the great opportunities to practice and perfect your craft. You can have major responsibilities in your 2 years here. Land your next role—working or transferring to a university—with more experience than most.

At CLC, you have a dedicated Academic Success Advisor to work with as you plan your transfer to a 4-year institution. Your advisor can suggest schools, decipher degree requirements and make sure you’re on the most efficient path to your goals.

Your instructors know you by name—not by number. At CLC, the instructors are teachers first, researchers second. They dedicate their careers to helping you learn and understand the significance of performance to our daily lives.

You learn the same material studied at 4-year schools, while you receive the personal attention and feedback possible only in small class sizes.

For students planning to transfer to a 4-year college or university for a bachelor’s degree.

These programs are built around general education classes that lead to an associate degree designed to transfer to a 4-year school. CLC participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) to ensure that approved courses will transfer to other participating colleges and universities. Transfer degrees typically take 2 years* to complete.

*Assumes full-time enrollment.

For students who want to earn job skills for entry level occupations, or level up in their career.

Certificates are designed to be completed in less than 2 years. Many certificate programs contain Career Degree core courses so you can continue with additional study or stack certificates to earn an A.A.S. degree.
