Automation, Robotics and Mechatronics

Revolutionizing industries with cutting-edge automation

A career in automation and robotics involves working with cutting-edge technologies. Professionals in this field create intelligent systems and work on diverse projects, from self-driving cars to automated healthcare equipment. This program develops skills in the design, programming and troubleshooting of automated systems, offering the opportunity to shape the future by revolutionizing how machines interact with the world.

Why study Automation, Robotics & Mechatronics with us?

At CLC, you have options—do you want to go to class during the day or the evening? Do you want your associate degree, with its wider knowledge base, or do you want the one-year certificate, which puts you in the workforce sooner?

Day classes meet on the Grayslake Campus and evening classes meet at the Lakeshore campus. Each campus has current industry equipment in dedicated, up-to-date automation labs. The one-year certificate courses are the same as the first-year courses of the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) program. The AAS degree requires an additional 6 technical courses beyond the first-year courses along with the typical general education requirements.

You gain hands-on experience and qualify for Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) certifications, which give you industry-standard recognition for what you’ve learned. Current plans are to offer the following SACA certifications:

  • Mechanical Systems
  • Electrical Systems
  • Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Pneumatics and Hydraulic Systems
  • Robotics

Your CLC instructors know you by name. At CLC, the instructors are teachers first, researchers second. They dedicate their careers to helping you learn and understand the significance of mechatronics technicians to our daily lives.

You learn the same material studied at 4-year colleges, while you receive the personal attention and feedback possible only in small class sizes.
