Gender and Sexuality Studies

About the Program

The Associate of Arts degree concentration in Gender and Sexuality Studies will give CLC students the opportunity to pursue studies in the field of gender and sexuality. The core classes will include Introduction to Gender Studies, Theories of Feminism, and Human Sexuality. Students may also choose from gender-themed electives in many disciplines, including Anthropology, Communication, Criminal Justice, English, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and more!

Undergraduate and graduate studies in the discipline have been popular at the university level for many years. CLC is now one of the few community colleges to offer Gender and Sexuality Studies!

There has been a growing demand for the degree at CLC as evidenced by the number of students enrolling in existing gender-themed classes. Its development was a collaborative effort among many faculty across the College.
