Let’s go on an adventure

Get credits that count when you participate in CLC’s travel programs.

Your instructors direct your field study in the United States. Courses in art, biology, geology, history and humanities make places like Door County or the Rocky Mountains your classroom.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for these programs you must:

  • be a registered CLC student
  • be at least 18 years old before the departure date of your program

Door County Watercolor

May 29 - June 2, 2024
Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

Be inspired and paint en plein air (in fresh air) along the waterfront in beautiful Egg Harbor. Beginning and advanced painters / watercolorists will receive individual instruction and learn from daily demonstrations. Class begins Wednesday afternoon, May 29. A critique session will be held at 10 a.m. June 8 via Zoom. This is a 2-credit course. Register for either one of the following classes:

  • Art 128 - 990 Watercolor I
  • Art 220 - 990 Watercolor II

Cana Lighthouse in Door County

Cost: $321* 

* Cost estimate for in-district students

Cost includes:

  • CLC tuition and fees

Cost excludes:

  • Food
  • Lodging ($140 per night / $70 per person) plus 13% tax for 4 nights, double occupancy
  • Driving to and from Egg Harbor

Tentative painting itinerary*

Wednesday, May 29 Check in – Demonstration on the grounds of the hotel. Evening get-together and potluck dinner. Bring a dish to pass. Grills and refrigeration are available.

Thursday, May 30 – Painting at Cana Island Lighthouse. Optional tour of the Ridges Sanctuary in the afternoon. Evening get-together/demonstration and cookout.

Friday, May 31 – Painting at Cave Point State Park. Painting in the afternoon (optional) at Whitefish Dunes. Dinner on your own.

Saturday, June 1 – Painting at Peninsula State Park lighthouse.

Sunday, June 2 Check out – Painting at Whitefish Dunes until noon.
