Discover everything that College of Lake County (CLC) can be during Open House. Operate a robot, visit a recording studio and explore so much more as you immerse yourself in the college’s three campuses and two specialty centers.

Mark your calendar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, and get ready for a hands-on, interactive day filled with discovery about what your future could hold. Tour cutting-edge labs, engage with inspiring faculty and dive into the potential of a CLC education.

“We’re thrilled to open our doors again for this year’s Open House,” said Jason Sarna, Assistant Director of Outreach and On-Campus Experience. “Visitors can connect with faculty and staff, enjoy live demonstrations and participate in interactive activities while learning more about the many resources and support services available at CLC.”

Take in what CLC has to offer

Step inside CLC’s campuses in Grayslake, Vernon Hills and Waukegan, as well as the Advanced Technology Center in Gurnee and the student-managed Prairie Restaurant at Brae Loch in Grayslake. Visitors can walk through the college’s modern labs and facilities and get a firsthand look at the learning environments where CLC students prepare for in-demand careers.

With more than 170 degrees and certificates across nine career fields, CLC offers something for everyone. Discover financial aid and scholarship options, flexible online programs and dual credit opportunities. Learn about exciting student life activities, including 34 student organizations, 14 sports teams and many ways to explore the arts. Engage with faculty and college and career navigators who can help map out your next steps.

Make a stop by Maker Faire

Even more fun continues at CLC from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during Maker Faire Lake County. Witness some of Lake County’s brightest creators and tinkerers during this free event, dubbed “the greatest show and tell on Earth,” held in CLC’s gymnasium, building F.

Drop in and say hello

Come by Open House at any time, and everyone is invited. The Welcome and One Stop Center will be open to answer questions, and financial aid presentations will take place throughout the event.

Road closure for construction

Due to construction, the Washington Street entrance will be closed to most traffic April 1 to June 30. For alternate routes, take Route 45 or Atkinson Road to Brae Loch Road and enter off Brae Loch Road. All traffic must enter from Brae Loch Road.
