Engineering and Computer Science

Solve problems by bringing your ideas and innovations to life

The engineering transfer curriculum at CLC is a 2-year program that will prepare you for continued engineering study at a four-year college or university. The program parallels the first 2 years of an engineering program at most universities accredited by the Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Simplify complex concepts in the classroom as you create 3D models and workshop solutions to real-world opportunities. We’re not saying you should design the next flying car… But we’re not not saying it either.

Why study Engineering and Computer Science with us?

A bachelor's degree in engineering provides graduates with rewarding and high-paying opportunities.

Start innovating and problem-solving from day one! Students in the program have access to the Baxter Innovation Lab, an open lab designed for students to innovate, brainstorm, prototype, and make their own designs. In addition to using the lab, internship opportunities are available for student workers to run the lab.

Your instructors know you by name—not by number. At CLC, the instructors are teachers first, and researchers second. They dedicate their careers to helping you learn and understand the scientific and mathematical principles of engineering.

You learn the same material studied at 4-year schools, while you receive the personal attention and feedback possible only in small class sizes. Work with your Academic Success Advisor to plan your transfer to a 4-year institution. We can recommend schools that fit your future goals.

Transfer Degree

For students planning to transfer to a 4-year college or university for a bachelor’s degree.

These programs are built around general education classes that lead to an associate degree designed to transfer to a 4-year school. CLC participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) to ensure that approved courses will transfer to other participating colleges and universities. Transfer degrees typically take 2 years* to complete.

*Assumes full-time enrollment.
