June 10 – 22, 2026
Explore historical sites associated with Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes. Visit key locations like the Old Bailey Criminal Courthouse and New Scotland Yard. Analyze the psychology of the criminal mind, criminal justice and the cultural and systemic differences between U.S. and U.K. criminal justice systems.
The trip features two courses for six credits total:
Mandatory meetings begin in Spring semester 2026. Classwork begins on May 18 and continues post trip.

Have your passport ready, the contact information for two CLC instructors to serve as your references (must be different from the faculty leader), and a short statement of purpose to demonstrate why you’d like to study abroad in this program.
Apply Online via the Education Abroad Portal
After submitting your application, an in-person payment of $500 must promptly be made at the Welcome and One Stop Center to secure your spot. Then, faculty will schedule an interview with you to finalize the application process.
Withdrawal information: Your deposit and other fees are refundable if you withdraw from the program no later than December 5, 2025. Withdrawals must be made in writing and submitted to wwloch@clcillinois.edu.
Applicants will receive notice of acceptance into the program no later than December 11.
