March 18 – 28, 2027

Visit historical sites and rural and urban settings, gaining exposure to a variety of stories and lived experiences. You will be encouraged and supported throughout the program as you learn about Ghana’s colonial history and the history of the transatlantic slave trade.

The trip features one course for three credits total:

  • ENG 235 – Introduction to African American Literature (3 credit hours)

Explore African American literature from its beginnings through the present in genres such as autobiography, poetry, novels, drama, oratory and film. Examine the writer's goals and how their work connects to the time, culture and history in which it was created.
